Our History

Two life long friends, Chris Weber and Elaine Sianis, who both had careers in physical therapy founded Arlington Pediatric Therapy (APT) 30 years ago. The two set up a modest practice in the basement of one of their homes. After a number of years and a growing patient load, the two rented space at a local church in Arlington Heights. As the number of patients continued to grow, additional therapists in physical therapy as well as occupational and speech therapy were hired. The need for more space once again became a factor. They have been at their present location, 3105 N Wilke, Suite H in Arlington Heights, for over 20 years now. It began as a small clinic and now with over 24,000 square feet of clinic space, APT has established itself as one of the largest and most complete independent pediatric outpatient therapy clinics in the Chicagoland area.

With organized sports programs on the rise in park districts, private clubs, and the schools, there has been a marked increase in sports related injuries in children and teens. Local pediatricians began referring patients to APT, because of their expertise in pediatric therapy, for these sports related injuries. Recognizing the need for pediatric specialization and the mission to always provide direct therapist client treatment, APT launched a sports injury rehabilitation division, “Arlington Rehabilitation for Sports and Orthopedic Injuries” in the winter of 2006. The success of this venture propelled APT to develop a new and larger area for the Sports Medicine division. During their extensive expansion and remodeling project, which was completed in the summer of 2010 a new facility consisting of over 2000 square feet of space was created. There are private treatment rooms, a cardiovascular, strength, plyometric and sport specific exercise gym, as well as a warm water therapy pool. It is a one of a kind.
